MORE BESPOKE COUTURE CHEAP CHIC-SUIT DETAILS

PURPLE LABEL-CHEAP CHIC PART II
A few weeks ago we posted pictures of shirts from our new Cheap Chic Purple label-Bespoke Couture, here are a few pictures of the suit details. The cloths are very limited each season. So it's best to order early. Prices start at $395.95 for a suit and can go up to $695.95(depending upon cloth choice) This is a great program we are now offering in light of the current economic financial crisis affecting us all. It is also an opportunity to get your feet wet in bespoke clothing in a round about way. This is not bespoke, but its as close as a customer can get without spending the big coin. A customer makes an appointment with one of our sales asscociates, the sales asscociates brings in the cloth selection for that particular season. The customer tells the sales asscociate what his off the rack size is, i.e.( 42 long) and the customer picks, the cloth, the jacket style and pant style that he would like the suit made in and in 15 working days the garment is shipped directly to the customer's home or office. We can even aid in any alterations that may be needed. If you are interested in this program, give one of our sales asscociates a call at 312-265-5413

THE TRY-ON
The try-on for any bespoke suit and/or sport coat is the "only" way to insure a proper and accurate fit. That is why Bespoke quality suits sit high above any made to measure suit. A pattern has been specifically produce for this individual, not produced for 100 individuals that resemble his body type. Well I am off for fittings we know of two individuals that are going to be very happy to see that these have arrive.

THE DOUBLE BREASTED SUIT/SPORT COAT. WE WELCOME THE RETURN, FINALLY
Back in the day before store buyers played it safe like robots and only bought solid grey and navy suits and sport coats for the stores, the double-breasted suit and/or sport coat was a staple in the male wardrobe...somewhere along the line, early ninety's or so it just up and disappeared. And we were left STUCK with only one type of jacket-A Single breasted, blah, blah. Well its back now, with a vengeance. Better get one and I mean fast. So that you can be so 3008 and everyone else in single-breasted jackets will be so 2000 and late!

REAL GOOD SCOTCH FOR CHEAP!

Most blogs focusing on men's interest "talk about" or "promote" $400.00 bottles of Scotch. They are so good, but what do they think, that we are in 2004 still? Don't they know we are in hard economic times right now? When in hard times sometimes you just need a really good drink. Most know that I am a drinker and collector of fine Scotch. About two years ago while visiting San Francisco a few friends got together. knowing I am a scotch fan, they poured me a couple of shots. I was amazed at how smooth this blend was. I asked what brand is this. My friend pulled the bottle from behind his bar and I was floored! Premium Scotch from TRADER JOE'S $9.99 to $12.99 a bottle. INCREDIBLE!!!! Here is the bad news! From my Knowledge only the Trader Joe's in the Bay area sells these. Get yourself some friends in Berkely, San Franciso, San Jose or Oakland and have them send you a bottle. My mouth is getting dry as I am typing, think i'll pour myself some now. Cheers.

UNFASHIONABLE FASHION PUBLICATIONS-GQ, ESQUIRE MAGAZINE and MEN'S VOGUE

Have you noticed lately (last 10 years- really the last 20 years) how unfashionable the men's fashion publications have become? If you have answered Yes, I feel the same way. It used to be a time that you (meaning fashionable men) could not wait to get their hands on the next Esquire or GQ. You would not even open it up if you purchased it from your local grocery store check lane, instead waiting to you got home to embrace the whole magazine...but as the years went by then you almost had to open it up because if you did not, you would promptly throw it away for the lack of fashion it contained. The FAILED attempt of MEN'S VOGUE gave a lesson on how to start a men's magazine and run it straight out of publication by doing the exact same thing that Esquire and GQ does, NOT TALK OR HIGHLIGHT FASHION.
I BLAME THE AMERICAN MEN"S WEAR PUBLICATIONS THEY ARE THE REASON A GENERATION OF YOUNG MEN DO NOT CARE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE! When you look at them now, they don't represent men's fashion in anyway. They represent how to be turned off from it. The people behind these magazines must really hate men's fashion because they do it such a dis-service. You may ask how...because they are all owned by the same company, and they do the same things! This was painfully clear when they featured Tom Browne as the next best thing in men's fashion. Are you kidding me????

But the above magazines bring new life to men's fashion magazines. They are not filled with page after page of boring articles or worthless advertisements. But instead they focus on MEN'S FASHION!!!!! Men's EX is by far the best. The only problem is everything is in Japanese. but the pictures are clear, their goal is clear and focused. My advice would be to grab hold of these when they come out. Several months ago they were easy to get, now there are waiting list for them are they are completely sold out. ESQUIRE, GQ Take some lessons. Maybe you will survive. it's never too late to turn around-get back to your roots-FASHION!

I think every man should have one "QUALITY" vintage timepiece for his wardrobe.
Here is a picture of my vintage "rare' blue dial Rolex Air-King Date model. I recently had it overhauled, oiled, cleaned and buffed...I think i am in love with it once again! I have probably bought, sold and traded over 100 Rolex timepieces. Most know that I am a complete WATCH NUT!!!
So let me tell you the story behind this one.
I saw this on Ebay over 9 years ago (WHEN EBAY WAS FOR REAL), I spoke with the jewelry store in detail about this watch before buying it. I stayed up to 3:45 in the morning, eyes BLOOD SHOT RED and waited for the last 8 seconds of the auction and placed my winning bid. I was determined to win this timepiece. as I placed my bid, I was waiting for the notice-YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER(BTW UNBELIEVABLE PRICE I WON IT FOR). It was if I had won the lottery. I promptly paid the store for the watch and had them ship it over night to me. When I received the watch I wore it day and night for 2 months and it just begin to lose it's luster for me. I was determined to sell it. THE PROBLEM-My wife absolutely loves this watch, when I put it up for sale more than a dozen times or so she would delete the offer or tell my friends and clients that it was not for sale.

I had pulled the crown out because it needed to be set, because I had not worn it for a while and my wife calls me and took my attention off of setting the watch, anyway a few seconds later, I forgot I had already pulled the crown out. So I go to pull the crown out again and pull it right away from the case of the watch. I was horrified because I knew the Rolex Service center was going to want a back, arm and leg to fix this one, needless to say after I paid and arm and a leg to get it fixed I am glad she never let me sell or trade this one away. This one is a KEEPER!

Correct way to wear a roll to three or two button jacket!
The right way to wear a double-breasted coat

The Correct way to wear a 3-button jacket

WRONG!

WRONG!!

ABSOLUTELY WRONG!!!

The proper way to wear a suit jacket or sport coat is NOT like Howie Mandel. In fact if you wear your jackets with all buttons buttoned up, the banker ain't' gonna come calling trust me, instead you just may have your local mental institution pick you up presuming you just escaped the facility in a buttoned up straight jacket. Straight Jackets ARE NOT CHIC!
So the next time you are primping yourself, make sure that if you are wearing a single breasted two button jacket that ONLY THE TOP button is buttoned, if it is a three button jacket, the middle button only and if it's a double-breasted jacket, only the top button may be buttoned.
